30 June–1 July 1520 — On the night the Spaniards fled Tenochtitlan along the Tlacopan causeway, warriors attacked them at the gaps where the bridges had been removed. Hundreds of Spaniards and thousands of their Tlaxcalan allies died in the causeway gaps and the lake.
