The Nanchang rising

1 Aug 1927 — Communist-led regiments seize Nanchang for three days — the party’s first army of its own. Driven out and broken, the survivors under Zhu De trickle to the hills. The People’s Liberation Army still dates its founding to this morning.
This is one scene of Chapter 5 — The Purge and the Nanjing Decade in China in Revolution, 1911–1949.
