WWI · TURNING POINT ·
HMS Dreadnought (1906)
10 Feb 1906 — Portsmouth launches a battleship with ten 12-inch guns and turbine engines, so superior that every older battleship, Britain’s own included, is outclassed at a stroke. The naval race restarts from almost level, the opening Tirpitz thought he had.
