Acuecuexco aqueduct flood (1499–1500)
On the Norse and Aztecs map as “Acuecuexco — the spring that drowned the city”
1499–1500 — The ruler Ahuitzotl brought the powerful springs of Acuecuexco, on the border of Coyoacán, into the city by a stone channel, killing the lord of Coyoacán who warned against it. The water flooded Tenochtitlan until divers sealed the springs.
