Fall of Saigon (1975)
On the Refugee crises map as “The fall of Saigon”
29–30 Apr 1975 — American helicopters lift about 7,000 people out of the city, some from the embassy roof, as North Vietnamese forces close in. In the last weeks perhaps 130,000 Vietnamese left by air and sea; millions of others tied to the old regime stayed behind.
