International Tracing Service (1946–48)
On the Refugee crises map as “The tracing service at Arolsen”
1946–48 — Allied searches for missing persons are centralised in the small town of Arolsen, which becomes the International Tracing Service. Its millions of camp, labour and DP records answered families for decades; opened to researchers in 2007, it is now the Arolsen Archives.
