Hanyang No. 1 Middle School incident (1957)
On the Mao’s China map as “Hanyang No. 1 Middle School”
Jun–Sep 1957 — Pupils protesting at how few of them could go on to senior school march on the county offices. The authorities call it a “little Hungarian incident”; a vice-principal, a teacher and a county official are executed after a mass rally in September, and others are jailed. All were rehabilitated in 1986.
