Myanmar · The War Room — WW2, 1936–1945

Burma saw the longest British campaign of the war: lost 1942, the Burma Road lifeline to China cut, retaken 1944–45 after Imphal/Kohima. Independence followed in 1948; the wartime mobilization of ethnic militias echoes in its conflicts today.
