Upper Silesia plebiscite (1921)
On the WWI map as “The Upper Silesia plebiscite”
20 Mar 1921 — About 60 per cent of voters choose Germany, but the result divides district by district, Polish insurgents rise in May, and in October the League splits the region, giving Poland most of the coal mines and steelworks. Each side calls the outcome unjust.
