Herjólfsnes (985–1430)
985 to c. 1430 — The first harbour that ships from Iceland reached in Greenland, named after the settler Herjólfr. Its churchyard, excavated in 1921, preserved woollen garments in the frozen ground, and grave clothes dated to about 1430 are the latest firm evidence of Norse people in Greenland.
